The other night Perry and I went out on a date.
I told Eyla, “Daddy is taking me on a date.” She looked a little confused so I expounded. “My prince is taking his princess out on a date.” Then her eyes lit up like she understood. I kissed her goodnight and had a lovely evening with Perry.
The next morning as soon as she woke up she asked me, “How was your date?” I told her it was good. She then asked, “Did you sing?”
I realized that she assumes that daddy (the prince) taking mommy (the princess) on a date is same thing to her as the Prince and Cinderella at the ball. Naturally.
I love that my daughters perception of reality is so skewed, that they truly believe that they are princesses and that they think that when we are on a date we are dancing and singing “So this is love” to each other.
