As if Easter wasn’t a huge enough party, a week later we got to party again. Ruby turned 1.
On her actual birthday April 12 this is what she looked like when she woke up.
I waited in her room till she woke, usually she comes and wakes me in the morning as happy as can be, but my being in there woke Rockwell which woke her, she wasn’t thrilled about it at first, but it only took her a minute to come around. (Don’t mind that I let her sleep in her clothes, we had a late night the night before and she fell asleep in the car, therefore we just transferred her to her bed in her clothes)
Now that’s my morning Ruby.
We walked to the park with some of our favorites and flew kites.
Ruby and Lux (5 months apart, as they get bigger the gap seems smaller considering Lux will probably walk before Ruby. Pretty much I just love they are cousins so close in age.
grubbing on pb and j, while strolling, she loves it! both the sandwich and going on walks in the stroller
It was the 1st time they flew the kites they got from their grandparents for Easter. They loved it and we have since been flying kites once or twice a week.
Eyla probably gets into the most. It is so cute. The best and worst is when someone lets go of their string then everyone screams and me and Perry and whoever let go, go running after the kite. Sometimes I think Rockwell does it on purpose cause he always laughs at us running.
Last time we went, me and her were laying on the blanket and staring at the kites and I got her to say “dite.” Although she isn’t walking yet, she is talking more than any of the other kids did at that age. It amazes me how different they all turn out to be.
Putting her to bed that night. What an angel. Great grandma says she can still see her halo. For me it comes and goes :). But seriously she is so sweet, I love the connection to heaven the little ones have.
2 days later we had a little party!
I love how all you can see is her one little eye. Does a 1 year old really need that much stuff? Heavens no! but she loved it all and thanks everybody!!
Cake, and all my cuties….
I know I have written before about the little bond her and Rockwell have, it was just so cute to watch them share that big old cake.
After he had his fill, she kept going….
She always has to have a utensil like the big kids, every time we sit down to eat any meal, she gripes till I give her a little spoon.
I think it was the best birthday ever for her…..not like she has much to compare it to.
She loves baths, bananas, and of course ba-bas. She loves cars the most out of all the toys we have, she crawls around pushing them and saying vrooom, vrooom. She is so smart, the other day at the pool, she wasn’t swimming anymore and just sitting with me so I took of her floatie (a puddle jumper, which is seriously amazing if you have a toddler you need one for the pool) anyway, we took it off to let a friend try it out, she kept yelling “nine! nine!” and pointing to her chest, at first I couldn’t figure it out then I realized what she wanted and I said, “Yes thats Ruby’s, but she is sharing soooooo good.” Then she just grinned and kept playing, she just wanted me to recognize it was hers and she shared. She is still a mommas girl and I’ll take it as long as I can, she gives kisses all the time, if we are all just playing on the floor together she crawls over climbs up on my lap and gives me a kiss. She sure is a softy for Perry (and man is he for her), whenever he gets home she calls out till he picks her up and gives her a big love. She is so snuggly and lovey. Just looking at her can turn a bad day good, I mean look at that face how could it not.
